How does this system work?
For the technically minded ...
- The heart of my AllMedia Custom Video & Sound Advanced Telephone System is the controller (KSU) located in your utility room. All incoming lines are connected to it and all of the lines throughout your home are wired to it.
- Special advanced wired handsets or wireless charging stations plug into your wall outlets just as they normally would, but now you have access to a multitude of features that are designed to give you the ultimate in control, convenience and functionality.
- Through the KSU, any call on any line can be routed to a specific extension or everywhere there's a handset. It's all up to you. Your system is custom programmed for your family's lifestyle.
- You can choose from a variety of styles and colors for your handsets, mixing and matching as your needs dictate. There are desktop units with LCD displays (great for caller ID use) or portable models that you can take outdoors (complete with belt clips).
- Even your existing handsets can be used with your new system, although advanced features, of course, are not accessible.
- All of our Advanced Telephone Systems are installed with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS's) so you don't have to worry about power outages cutting you off. (In addition, as a fail-safe, every installation includes a jack, located at your discretion, which by-passes the KSU and connects you directly to your telephone company's wiring.)
- Programming changes can be made right from your primary handset, eliminating the need for a service visit to re-route wires at your utility panel.
