 The vast majority of homes are wired only for the most basic services like electricity, telephone and limited cable TV. The home of the future, on the other hand, requires not only these basic services but additionally, the capacity to handle advanced configurations of these services as well as high-speed data signals. Allowing a home to be built today without giving serious thought to its wiring for advanced technology is at best, short-sighted and at worst, extremely costly in the long run. AllMedia Custom Video & Sound can install a future-proof wiring network that connects all the rooms of your home to a central utility location. From this central location, technology services including, telephone, cable, satellite, DSL and Cable Internet access, high-speed data communication networks, closed circuit TV and paging can be made available if and when they are desired to any room in your home at minimal cost.  This form of future-proof wiring design is called "structured wiring" (see links below) and has become the standard in high-end homes throughout most of the country over the last 5 years or so. Not only does this system of wiring ensure access to today's technologies like Digital TV, Interactive television and Video-on-Demand, but is specifically engineered to provide for the use of future technologies as well. The AllMedia Custom Video & Sound Future-Proof Home Wiring System is comprised of individual cables for cable/antenna, satellite, telephone and data in at least four rooms of your home (more are recommended) that are run directly, with no breaks or branches, to a central wiring location in your home's utility area. How does this system work?
For the technically minded ...
- High speed cables are run from wall plates throughout your home directly (with no branches or breaks) to a central connection panel in a climate-controlled utility area of your home.
- A large diameter conduit is run from the basement utility area to the attic space to facilitate unforeseen future wiring upgrades.
- Incoming services such as telephone, cable, satellite and off-air antenna are brought to this same cental connection panel.
- All of the above services are surge protected, grounded (if necessary), amplified, terminated, patched and routed to the rooms that require their respective services. (This configuration having been previously discussed with you in order to determine and meet your needs.)
- An equipment panel mounted on the wall at the central location houses all of the connections and hardware necessary for your distribution system. This enclosed cabinet provides both limited access and ease of configuration for future upgrades.
- The wall plates in each room provide color coded connections for data, telephone and video. Just plug it in!
