AllMedia Custom Video & Sound exclusive "No New Wires" Technology

Ask us about this exciting new option if you would like to have most of the benefits of WholeHouse Audio without the expense and inconvenience of running wires through your existing home.
How does this improve my quality of life?
- I can play the music I enjoy wherever I am in the house at any time.
- I can simply push one button to make my choice. My system does the rest.
- I choose the volume of sound in each and every room individually with a simple rotary or touch-panel control.
- I can move from room to room and be caressed by the same beautiful sound wherever I go.
- If I desire I can have my favorite music playing in just the room I'm in while the rest of my family enjoys their own favorites wherever they are.
- I can have my children wake up to pleasant, enriching music of my choice with the touch of a button from my own bedroom.
- The aesthetically pleasing design of my in-wall and/or in-ceiling speakers blend in seamlessly with my decor, can be painted to virtually disappear and have no exposed wires while providing evenly dispersed, rich, balanced sound throughout the room.
- If I'm having a party ... choosing "Party Mode", I can turn on the music of my choice in a specific group of rooms all at once at a set volume with the touch of one little button !
- AllMedia Custom Video & Sound WholeHouse Audio Systems enable me to hear the door chime from anywhere in the house even if my system is not playing, however, if it is playing, the sound will mute so that I can hear the door chime. Two-way communication with the caller at the door is possible from any telephone in the my home.
- If I'm in the kitchen and the children are in the playroom, the home theater ... wherever ... I can simply pick up any phone and page them to come to dinner. (Of course, while I'm paging, the sound of any music playing is muted temporarily.) No more running all over the house to find the kids !
- Instead of many individual audio systems spread throughout my home I have one centralized high quality, reliable, multi-functional system located where I choose. This can significantly reduce the cost and waste of many, less frequently used components cluttering up my living space.
- I never need to see the equipment that comprises my system except when I want to add to my CD or software collection. The equipment can be hidden away in a safe location to which only I have access.
- Optional Video Touch Panels can be installed in some or all control locations allowing me to control my entire system as well as viewing:
- My favorite news channel
- The baby's room camera
- The front and/or side door camera(s)
- Any DVD in my system
- Any VHS Tape in my system
- Any TV/Cable/Satellite channel
- My Camcorder
...even in rooms with no TV !
How does this system work?
For the technically minded ...
- Audio equipment is located in a central location such as a basement utility area or closet, a family room wall unit, or anywhere in your home that is climate controlled. (For example: it should not be placed in an unheated/cooled area such as an attic or garage)
- All rooms that will have music available will have one or two speakers. your choice of in-wall, on-wall, in-ceiling, or cabinet speakers can be selected. (Most rooms will have two speakers but small rooms such as powder rooms and bathrooms, walk-in closets, pantries and laundry rooms only require one speaker.)
- In-wall and in-ceiling speakers' grilles can be painted to match your decor and color pallette, becoming virtually invisible sound sources. On-wall and cabinet speakers usually offer some degree of choice in color or finish.
- All rooms that will have music available will have one rotary volume control mounted in the wall at your chosen location (usually near the doorway) just like a light switch to enable sound level adjustment for that room from "off" to very loud.
- Some or all rooms that will have music available will have one touch-panel mounted in the wall at your chosen location (usually near the doorway) just like a light switch, enabling system control over one or more rooms. In some cases the touch-panel may eliminate the need for the rotary volume control in that room.
- The AllMedia Custom Video & Sound Standard WholeHouse System is a "Home Run" wiring system and includes high-quality solid copper CL rated 16 gauge two and four conductor audio wire. Each four conductor wire along with a control cable is run from the volume control in each room to the main equipment location. Two conductor wire is run within each room from the volume control to each speaker in that room.
- The AllMedia Custom Video & Sound Premium WholeHouse System is a "Home Run" wiring system and includes premium-quality solid copper CL rated 14 gauge two and four conductor audio wire. Each four conductor wire along with two high-speed data grade control cables and a solid copper baseband video cable is run from the volume control in each room to the main equipment location. Two conductor wire is run within each room from the volume control to each speaker in that room. The Premium WholeHouse System is recommended for homes larger than 3000 square feet and/or clients who wish to future-proof their WholeHouse audio system. This system utilizes very high quality, high-current carrying audio wire for the most demanding speaker choices. This system also allows easy upgrades to advanced control features and maximizes system management potential as your family's needs change. The AllMedia Custom Video & Sound Premium WholeHouse System also provides flexibility for future owners - a great selling point for potential buyers.
- Simple systems will have one or two control locations - usually the kitchen and the master bedroom - which control the same zone. These systems can allow independent control from each of these locations so that, for example, a CD is playing in the kitchen but not in the master bedroom. However, when someone wakes up in the bedroom and activates the system from their touch-panel, the same CD will be playing. If a person in the kitchen chooses to listen to any other source (FM radio for example), the music in the master bedroom will also be changed to that FM station. In other words, only one source can be playing at any one time throughout the house wherever the volume is not turned off.
- Advanced systems will employ multiple control zones so that each touch-panel can access any audio source at any time without influencing what is being heard in any other zone. AllMedia Custom Video & Sound will design your system with as little or as much sophistication as you desire.
WholeHouse Paging & Door Communication:
- Special "Override" volume controls are employed which allow the music playing in the system to be muted while the door is chiming or paging is taking place. These special volume controls also allow the WholeHouse speakers throughout your home to be used for both the door chime and paging even if the system is not on at the time. The system simply wakes up when necessary to give you access to these advanced capabilities. Your system will be custom programmed to your specifications. For example, you probably don't want the door chime or paging to sound in the baby's room ... no problem. Advanced systems allow the chime and paging volumes to be custom tailored for each zone separately, so, for example the volume can be louder in the back yard than in the study or bedrooms. It'll all be just the way your lifestyle dictates.

How does this system work?
For the technically minded ...
- Special, high quality solid copper shielded cables run from each closed circuit TV camera and each video source component(VCR, DVD, etc.) to a video modulator located at a central panel in your utility area . The modulator converts these signals to a specific broadcast frequency that your TV recognizes as a particular channel number (usually in the range of channel 70 through 80 or above channel 105). Your TV can then "tune in" your locally modulated source signals just as if it was coming in from the cable or antenna feed to you home.
- For video monitors (these are devices similar to your computer monitor that can display a picture fed to it but have no built-in "tuner" to convert TV frequencies into a viewable picture) a separate video distribution device, also located at the central utility panel, is used to amplify and feed the signals from each closed circuit TV camera and each video source component(VCR, DVD, etc.) back through the same type of cable used for the cameras to each of the video monitors installed in your system.
- The feed from your rooftop or attic TV antenna, cable TV, or Satellite dish is combined with the modulator's signal, amplified, if necessary and distributed to all of the TV outlets in your home.
- The cable used for broadcast signals (that is, antenna, cable, satellite, and the modulator's signal) is different from that used for the cameras and video components and is made of a very high quality copper clad steel with four shielding layers to prevent noise from getting into your system.
- If desired, the system can easily be configured to send certain signals of your choice to a limited number of locations or even a specific room. For example, perhaps you have two DVD players; you don't want the little ones to be able to tune into an R-rated movie that you're playing in your master bedroom. No problem.
